Japan's Statistics Bureau said that the consumer price index was down .1% in February and even with a year ago. The June Japanese yen is trading lower while the risk of increased radiation exposure is still dangerously high (see article).
Standard and Poor's cut its credit rating for Portugal by two steps, from A- to BBB. Moody's has a credit rating of A3 for Portugal with a negative outlook. The June euro is steady to lower.
Real GDP in France was up .4% in the fourth quarter and up 1.5% from a year ago.
